Scorpion 6.0 creates 3D Models of moving objects in real-time
The animation shows the steps of creating an 3D model of a
pc-mouse with a Lasiris 19x19 lasergrid and 3 camera
stereo vision system. The lasergrid covers a 3D FOV of 140 x 140
x 80 mm with a resolution of 0.5 mm.

Advanced 3D Modeling available with a new option GCPS
With
the Scorpion 6.0 release a new option is available GCPS - this option enables Scorpion users to create high precision 3D Models
with a standard video projector and one camera. To the right a
point cloud capture with Scorpion. The cylinder visualizes a
located cylinder. GCPS - stands for Grey Coding and Phase Shift.
The new option makes 3D Measurement, 3D Robot Vision, Random Bin
Picking and 3D Assembly Verification feasible for everyone.
The option is developed in cooperation with the Norwegian
Research Institute - Sintef. It is the first commercial result
of the research project "Auto3D" sponsored by the Norwegian
Research Council. More information -

Prosilica GigE
supports Scorpion Vision Server™
GigE
will change the way we use cameras in Machine Vision System and
open up new application areas. Scorpion Vision Software and
Prosilica is the best platform to take advantage of this
industry shift based on Ethernet connectivity. The Scorpion
Vision Server can runs tens of vision sensor tasks or up to four
demanding machine vision applications on one Industrial Vision
Server. The hardware platform for a Scorpion Vision Server is
GigE cameras, OPC, TCP/IP, Profibus, Quad Core Processors, Hot
Swap Redundant Disk and Industrial Ethernet Technology.

Wireless 3D Robot Vision using Prosilica GigE
Combining Prosilica GigE cameras and Scorpion Vision Software
users can make wireless robot vision systems. One Scorpion
Vision Server can run multiple 3D robot vision system on one
computer.
Scorpion 6.0 supports Allied Vision Technologies FirePackage
Driver
Based on the AVT FirePackage Scorpion
provides support for the complete range of AVT firewire cameras:
Marlin, Guppy, Pike, Stingray, Oscar and Dolphin.
This offer the Scorpion user the complete
feature set, the benefit of full bus control and 100% predictable
data latency.
The Scorpion 6.0 AVT combination creates
simple to install Machine Vision applications with even higher
reliability and robustness.

Scorpion Vision Web Shop
Suddenly,
finding the right industrial camera for the job has got a little
easier in the world of industrial imaging – and life sciences
for that matter! Scorpion Vision, a supplier of industrial
cameras and machine vision software has just launched a new
imaging and machine vision B2B ecommerce website with a number
of innovative features including clear and unambiguous pricing,
a super fast product search facility and a great little lens
calculator. The new site is targeted at the company's
Scandinavian, UK and European customers and so offers the
ability to pay in 4 different currencies.
Scorpionvision.co.uk
is a distributor for a number of premium industrial products,
including PixeLINK cameras, high quality Fujinon lenses,
Unibrain 1394 (firewire) technology and of course Scorpion
Vision Software – the powerful, non-programming PC based vision
software that includes 3D modelling and inspection capability.
The web shop has a very broad range of imaging products to
complement the vision software and recently the portfolio was
increased by the addition of new CCD models from PixeLINK. The
site contains over 500 individual products and is a great source
of information for those looking for costs and technical
specifications for their projects.
In addition, the team at Scorpion Vision is known for excellent
customer service and technical support and has significant
expertise in both imaging and firewire technology.
If you're looking for good camera technology for
your project, please do have a look at the new
website. If you're a trade customer, apply for a
business account for access to reseller prices.

Example Scorpion Applications
Bottle Fill Verification from our US distributor Valentine
Robotics: Scorpion vision software is tracking the fill heights
of the bottles. The system easily tracks the rise of the liquid
displaying the various levels with a red line.
